A Silent Hope
POETRY
As the seasons turn with time,
Friendship faces the test
Those good ol' days so sublime
Brought out my sweetness
Everything bright and summer
filled with love and laughter
Memories of golden goddess
echoes ever after
Though times were bitter
life threw lemons
But with a touch of hope
we found sweetness in sour
As the storm approached,
the fear crept in.
Will this friendship stand?
or dissolve deep within.
The test begins and
Demons come out.
Doubt, ego, selfish and anger,
attachment their leader.
My Unconditional love was merely an illusion
Shadowed by demons
My mirror self turned silent,
Left to fight the war I made
She endured the pain,
ripped the bandage off my heart
and drifted apart.
The storm passed, leaving behind chaos and scars.
The dark days began-
smile turned frown,
Hope began to fade,
in a timeless loop of emotions,
everything stuck and memories replayed.
As I hope for a closure from her
The world pushed me to find it within
But my inner compass, spun in circles,
directionless and confusing
I wandered in the search of light
stumbled upon angels
I seek their help and they whisper
"you are the light! surrender!"
My logical mind takes over
Corrupted by demons
With a closed heart
it pulls out a victim card
The quest is finding yourself,
the angels clarify.
Heal yourself to mirror her,
they utter.
The questions flood in
The endless whys
All they say, what I see,
is illusion - hidden behind is infinity.
Spiraling into unknown, my journey begins
The past repeats
The present stagnant
The Future unknown
My inner demons surfaced
hurting the angels
yet still they perceive their mission
to pull me out and fight
They held up a mirror,
and I saw my shadows dancing within
Realization struck
How badly I mistreated her
Focusing on self,
I overlooked her love
Blinded by fear,
I let the confusion take over.
Now left with no choice, but to
Win over my shadows and see the light
To love her again, unconditionally
and slowly making things right
The healing continues
Struggling, but trying to surrender
Hoping one day I see her again
Pull her gently close and say:
"I'm sorry! can we start over again!"
